Cannabis FAQ

Explore our FAQs for quick answers about products, ordering, store policies, and everything you need to know before your visit.

What do I need to bring to shop at a dispensary?

To purchase cannabis at Mecca Cannabis or any licensed dispensary, you must present a valid, government-issued photo ID proving that you’re 21 years of age or older. This can be a driver’s license, passport, or state ID. We cannot accept expired or damaged IDs. If you’re a medical marijuana patient, you must also bring your current medical card in addition to your ID. No exceptions are allowed due to strict state compliance laws.

What’s the difference between indica, sativa, and hybrid strains?

Cannabis strains are typically categorized into three main types: indica, sativa, and hybrid.

  • Indica strains are known for their relaxing, body-focused effects—great for nighttime use, stress relief, or muscle tension.

  • Sativa strains are typically uplifting and energizing, making them ideal for daytime use or creative activities.

  • Hybrids combine traits of both, offering balanced effects depending on the strain’s genetic makeup.

Keep in mind, the best way to choose a strain is based on desired effects, terpene profile, and THC/CBD content—our budtenders are happy to help guide your decision.

How much cannabis can I legally purchase?

Under Colorado law, adults 21 and over can legally purchase up to 1 ounce (28 grams) of flower, 8 grams of concentrates, or 800 milligrams of edibles per day from a licensed recreational dispensary. These limits are set by the state and apply per person, per day. Medical marijuana patients may have different purchase limits depending on their medical card. It’s important to note that all purchases are tracked to ensure legal compliance.

What are the effects of edibles, and how long do they last?

Edibles are cannabis-infused food or drink products that provide a longer-lasting and more intense effect compared to smoking or vaping. Because they’re processed through your digestive system, effects typically begin 30 minutes to 2 hours after consumption and can last 4 to 8 hours or more.

We always recommend starting low and going slow, especially for beginners. A typical starting dose is 5 to 10mg of THC. Keep in mind that overconsumption can lead to discomfort, so be patient and avoid taking more until the full effects are felt.

What payment methods do you accept?

Mecca Cannabis accepts cash and debit cards. We also have an ATM on-site for customer convenience. Due to federal banking restrictions, credit cards are not currently accepted at most dispensaries in the U.S., including ours. If you’re unsure about payment options, feel free to call ahead before visiting.

Can I place an order online for pickup or delivery?

Yes! You can browse our live menu and place your order online for in-store pickup. This allows you to reserve your favorite products and skip the wait. Currently, cannabis delivery may be available depending on your location and local regulations. Please check our website for real-time availability and updates on new services.

How do I store cannabis to keep it fresh?

To keep your cannabis fresh and potent, store it in a cool, dark, and dry place. Airtight glass jars are ideal, especially ones with UV protection. Avoid plastic bags, which can degrade trichomes, and don’t refrigerate or freeze flower as that can cause mold or trichome damage.

If you’re storing concentrates or edibles, keep them sealed and temperature-controlled based on packaging guidelines. Some concentrates benefit from refrigeration, while most edibles should be stored like regular food—cool and out of direct sunlight.

Mecca Cannabis is your trusted source for high-quality cannabis in a welcoming, community-focused environment.
